Ziraldo

One of my favorites illustrator is the Brazilian Ziraldo. http://www.lambiek.net/ziraldo.htm
He did and still do everything from political cartoons, editorial illustrations, logos, theatre posters, comic strips and dozens of beautiful children books. Very prolific in all these areas but maintaining a very unique and recognizable style. He was one of the major voices agaisnt the military dictatorship in the 70s on the humorous periodical "Pasquin" ( that was full of great illustrations)
I can say I grown up seeing his illustrations and I remember reading his most famous book "menino maluquinho" over and over again when I was a child.
I was fortunate to meet and talk to him in more than one occasion ( he did the speech on my graduation) and he is such a passionate and inspiring guy that after you talk to him you just want to seat down and draw...draw..draw..

I will try to scan other of his illustrations from my book collection. and post here
