How I did "broken"

I will talk here about the process I did for the creation of the "broken" illustration for the Illustration Friday. First I did some sketches with pen on paper, just to get an idea for the pose and character, then I went to draw direct in Illustrator ( with my mouse, although I have a tablet and mostly using the pen tool). As you can see I decided to change the design for the character and did way simpler shapes. After I was happy with the drawing I went to photoshop, and start playing with textures in different blend modes and did some brush work. On top are the two main textures I used, both from my personal pictures I took with my digital camera.
